Week 37.....SICK
I am considered full term as of yesterday. I am 37 weeks and things suck. Sunday night was when my horrible cold started. I can't breathe, no matter how religiously I use my neti pot and saline rinse. All the green tea in the world wont help me sleep or have a clear head. On top of that, yesterday marked my very first bout of sciatic nerve pain. I have no words for the pain, except that it feels like someone took a super expensive knife and continually stabs you in your lower back as the pain radiates down your butt and to your knee. Mine was on the left side and left me unable to walk most of the day. I had my OB appt in the morning in which he confirmed where my pain was coming from. He felt baby is laying on that nerve now in "launch" position...his words, not mine.
The appt went well, I actually LOST 2 pounds.....unheard of for right after Turkey Day! Heartburn really does eventually turn you off to many fattening foods. I am really working on my nesting, trying to wash clothing, organize babies room, clean my house. Nothing like getting down on the bathroom floor and then unable to get up! Overall I am definitely excited to meet him, although not yet ready to be done with work for 8 months. I am ready for cold weather to keep my swollen ankles at bay...seems colder temps help but it was 70 and sunny yesterday in almost December! It would be great if Ryan and I could come up/agree on a name.....feels odd not having a clue when he could arrive any day now! Ryan is so busy with teaching, then coaching and then exercising that by the time he gets home, its the last thing on his mind. I dont blame him, he works WAY too hard 7 days a week. Cool thing is that December 18 or earlier depending on when baby arrives will be his last day for his weekend job that he has had FOREVER. No more lifeguarding! He will then spend time with me and baby and he is SO excited. I think being a full time teacher and a coach is enough work!!!
