Costco Gas

For years I envied those who belonged to Costco and had the "right" to buy Costco gas. I would drive buy their "hidden" gas stations and see how cheap the prices were, and ask Ryan why we belonged to GAS-LESS BJ's. Since we bought our condo and are closer to a Costco, we waited until February 28 till our membership expired and joined Costco last night. Aside from the fight between 3 customers and an employee....yes like an ALMOST fist fight (women)........it was an amazing place. MUCH different from BJ's. Well, on the way out, after the guy at the door attempted to stop the 3 instigating women for item in their cart that were not on their receipt......we drove past the gas station that was now OURS. I decided although I had a 1/2 tank, with prices rising so quickly, it would pay to fill up. I pulled up to the pump...so excited to show the guy our new executive membership card, and all he wanted was my AMEX...Hmmmmmmm......I said to Ryan, "Doesn't he need our Costco card?" So as he came back to give me my AMEX.....I asked him why he didn't want to see my membership card.....WELL WELL WELL.......turns out NJ is one of the states where they CANNOT deny ANYONE gas. Yes, all these years of Costco Gas Envy....and we could have been getting gas their the entire time! I bet MANY people are not aware of this....and I also wonder if that is why they had the gas stations in the back off the main road for the most part. I was, I must admit.....disappointed. But the gas was about 14 cents cheaper than one we passed on the way home so, I figured I'd spread the news to all 2 people who read my blog. (one being me)
